pituitary gland?
Pituitary gland is the
hormone producing gland. All the
hormones that we have in our body are produced by a gland called pituitary gland. when it result in hormone excessively
it will cause tumors.
3. what is
the cause of tumor?
It can be hereditary, genetic,
sometimes there are known causes, It occurs in increase in size of gland. If
the gland size increases by more than 1 cm or 10 mm then by radio logically saying that patient is having
tumor in certain gland.
4. What are
the signs and symptoms of it?
related to vision problems
or it could be because of excessive hormone production. depending in type of
hormone symptoms will be relevant to that.
5. What are
diagnostic methods are available?
MRI scan to know inside
or outside the gland, how big and small depending on size and extent location ,
CT scan of nose and sinus. examination
of eyes.
6.what type
of surgeries are performed?
Trans nasal surgery is a
new technology perform meaning going through the nose with the help of
microscope.
7. what are
the complications after the surgery?
injury to the optic
nerve, damage blood vessel around the tumor.
8. After
surgery how many days that patient need to be hospital?
Depending on the patient
condition we can decide. usually to stay in an average of 2 to 5 days.
